If you’re interested in how exploring art history will inform and inspire your work, join Davis for a humorous and enlightening look back to the future. He’ll discuss the history of photography through portraits, his own work and how it’s evolved over the years as well as a few historical moments that may well have influenced some of photography’s greats. We’ll open it up for class discovery and self reflection. It looks to be an informative and interesting few hours. Hope to see you there.
Instructor, Davis Freeman is a Seattle based photographer, lecturer and artist who has won numerous awards for his work including the prestigious “Px3 Prix de la Photographie Paris competition,” and his work was nominated for the “International Color Awards”. His photographs have been exhibited nationally and internationally to include, Paris, Amsterdam, NYC, Sun Valley, Seattle, Milan. He has been profiled in many national publications and featured in several photo anthologies to include Photo District News, Shutterbug, Seattle Magazine, Studio Photography and Polaroid Test Magazine. His portraits portfolio include, among others: His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Dave Matthews, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bill Gates, Melinda Gates, Tom Skerritt, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Dave Brubeck, John Updike. Permanent collections include: City of Seattle, King County, Houston Fotofest, The Tacoma Glass Museum, WSU, The Ralph Lauren Collection, and David Crosby.
