Event description

Description

Join BCPCWest for another in a series of post talks in Los Angeles to discuss having a successful career in unscripted television. A lot of people think unscripted television -- reality, documentary, awards shows -- is merely a stepping stone to scripted. But this panel of post production workers are at various points in a solid career in unscripted and many of them plan to stay there for the duration. Whether unscripted is the long-term plan for you or not, finding ways to enter the genre and be successful is important to your future whether you're a technician, editor, assistant, producer, or something else entirely.

Panelists:
Mary DeChambres, ACE (editor, Project Runway, Jersey Shore)

Sean Linal (assistant editor, The Bachelor, American Ninja Warrior)

La-Aja Hernandez (assistant editor/editor, The Price is Right, American Idol)

Biagio Messina (Producer, Joke Productions)

Jen McClure-Metz (Executive Producer, Slednecks. Producer, The Voice, Survivor)

Moderated by Mike Api (American Ninja Warrior, The Rio Olympics)

Doors open at 3, panel begins at 3:30. Sandwiches and drinks provided thanks to The SIM Group

Seating will be limited for this event. If you're local, we strongly encourage you attend in person to get the benefit of meeting and talking to panelists one on one. If you're not, live stream it is.

This event is free but if you are able, consider a $10 donation to the BCPC Professional Development Accessibility Program. Money raised will help us enable low-income post production professionals to have equal access to conferences, trade-shows and other major events.

There is lots of street parking available. Enter the building at the corner of Las Palmas and Santa Monica.

If you RSVP and are unable to attend, please cancel your ticket so your seat can be given to someone on the wait list.
