BCO Farmer’s Market Bike Ride
May 13, 2017 – 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Meet at Onion Creek
3106 White Oak Dr, Houston, TX 77007
This is a very social ride (we chat a lot) and all levels of riders are welcome.
Life in H-town is constantly evolving, in a large part thanks to our local Farmers' Markets. Did you know many of our local restaurateurs shop at the Farmers' Markets each week for handcrafted cheeses, local produce, baked goods and locally sourced organic meats? Our job is to pedal fast enough to beat them to the market but slow enough to enjoy the ride :)). No problem for us! We’ll use the side streets, trails, and residential areas in the heart of Houston to meander our way around.
We will start the morning off with a leisurely coffee at Onion Creek and then cruise to the markets to shop for fresh produce, sauces, jams, and bread. This is a 12-15 mile ride that lasts about three hours so bring plenty of water and a backpack to carry your goodies!
Plan on sticking around after the ride to enjoy lunch at Onion Creek Cafe. They are a locally owned eatery, good food, good brews and good friends!
No bike? No worries!
You can pick up a bike from a B-Cycle kiosk around town. Check their map and info here: http://houston.bcycle.com If you are a member of Bayou City Outdoors and do not have a bike, we can loan you a bike for the ride. But you MUST call the office 1 to 2 weeks in advance to arrange for the loaner bike.
Meet at Onion Creek, 3106 White Oak Dr, Houston, TX 77007. Please DO NOT Park in the Onion Creek lot – there is parking on the surrounding streets but look out for ‘no parking’ signs. Meet at 8:30AM – leave at 9:00AM to Noon. Free for members and non-members alike.
The event is open to older kids who have good bike handling skills. Please note - we will be riding on some busy Houston streets.

When & Where
Bayou City Outdoors
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Typically most BCO events are for adults. But, we do love kids. If you believe your child is capable of keeping up with the group, no problem. AND if this is a bike ride they MUST wear a helmet. Questions? Contact us at email@example.com
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
We add parking details to the Event descriptions.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
If the temperature is above 80 or it very clearly says "No Dogs" then please don't bring your dog. We LOVE dogs and only make this rule if we feel there could be a safety concern (for the dogs of course:).
BIKE: If it is a bike ride: Bring a helmet or borrow one from us. Helmets are the single most important piece of gear you can have on a bike ride. Anyway, any time you are wearing a helmet you must be having fun!
Bring water. Frequently our events are in the woods or out of the way. Water is important.
HIKE: If it is a hiking event wear comfortable shoes. Athletic shoes, hiking boots, running shoes, just be sure your feet will be happy.
SOCIAL: If it is a social event? Wear whatever YOU feel comfortable in. We are an eclectic mix of people with all types of interests and jobs. People will come straight from work in a suit or jeans, straight from running or working out, and some of us even come cleaned up straight from the shower! (and everything in between)
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Can I update my registration information?
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Printed ticket or download the EventBright app and bring it on your phone.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds up until 48 hours before. Or, better yet, get some goodwill by sharing your ticket with a friend. They will love you even more after all the fun they had at the BCO event!
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Yes - see love & friendship above!
