The Brunswick Community College will host its Seventh Annual Community Luncheon on March 15, 2017 at the Dinah E. Gore Fitness and Aquatics Center. This year’s speaker will be Roman Gabriel III.
Roman Gabriel III will speak on how community college impacted his success and helped him get to where he is today. He plans to share the stories of many athletes who have traveled similar paths and the obstacles they have overcome. There will be a session afterwards for BCC’s student athletes where he will give words of encouragement and teach them how they can live their life to the fullest and achieve their dreams. The event is sure to be a great hit as Roman Gabriel III has a lot to offer to the College. Tyler Wittkofsky, Program Coordinator for Community and Donor Relations at the BCCF says, “From speaking with Roman, his passion for education and community is astounding. He wants to help wherever he can and give back. He is the type of person who walks into a room and makes people notice. When he speaks, people will listen. His impressive presence sets the tone for whatever message he delivers. We are beyond excited to have him as our guest speaker.”
Roman Gabriel III is the son of former New Hanover High School and NC State standout quarterback and Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles star Roman Gabriel. He is a community college graduate of College of the Desert in California, and has a bachelors degree in Communications, Television Broadcasting from the University of New Mexico. He’s a former college and pro football quarterback (Raiders and the USFL’s Boston Breakers). Roman went on to coach football at Arizona Western Junior College. He has spent the last 25 years as a Radio/ TV host, and award winning producer, and film –maker. His current program “ Sold Out Sports Talk” is broadcast nationwide on American Family Radio (WJKA 90.1FM locally) Saturday nights at 8:06pm, the show takes on today's relevant sports news and events with in depth interviews with athletes and coaches, team sports, extreme and Olympic athletes, and those who cover sports and entertainment.
Roman has covered the Super Bowl for the last 23 years through his television show Sold Out, website at www.fspn.net. His stories include testimonies from high impact players and coaches on the two competing Super Bowl teams. Today, he leads Sold Out Youth Ministries, which headquarters in Boone, NC. For the last five (5) years he has operated the statewide (Including Brunswick Co) Sold Out School Alcohol-Abstinence and Character Education Program. Fighting to stop under aged alcohol usage in schools and communities.
