Description

$10 person/ suggested donation (all proceeds go towards the Conservancy's education and restoration programs)

Expanding our reach to bring you topics on ocean connectivity, award-winning author Chris Epting will return on Earth Day to talk about the magnificent Emperor Penguins. Designed for children and adults alike, Epting will enthrall you with stories about an unforgettable trip he and his then teenage daughter took to a little-known place called Snow-Hill Island in Antarctica. There, they observed and studied the Emperor Penguins, the largest of all penguins. It was a unique and challenging adventure that is sure to entertain, educate and inspire young students, and since the talk is taking place on Earth Day, Epting will explore ecologic connections between creatures of the deep icy southern hemisphere and our wetland ecosystems, and why it is important to protect and preserve our natural habitats. All students (and parents) are welcome; suggested especially for grades 1-4! Don’t miss what promises to be an enchanting way to celebrate Earth Day!
