Event Details

The 2016 Boston Comedy Arts Festival covers 3 stages and features Improv, Sketch, and StandUp Comedy.

Friday, September 9 @ 10:30pm, Studio Theater
Featured Acts:

Bait & Switch
"Bait & Switch is a three-man duo from Wakefield, RI. We tell unconventional stories through unconventional means, equally at home in comedy, drama, and abstraction. With deep Johnstonian roots and a strong theatrical sensibility, we deploy our storytelling tactics to evoke a range of emotions, always filtered through the lens of truly joyful improvisation.
We perform weekly at our home theater in Wakefield, and have taught and performed in RI, MA, NH, NY, PA, TN, and TX. Chris has served as Artistic Director of the Contemporary Theater Company since 2005, and has been teaching and improvising since 2010. Charlie has been an Ensemble Member at the CTC since 2012, and has been teaching since 2014. Tyler joined the group in 2014 with extensive background in music performance and composition. "
"Heartbeat takes the Spokane form and injects it with a fun imaginative world that reinforces the fact in improv, "Love is all you need"."
Resting Bitch Face
"Holly and Jackie are two no nonsense chicks not known for minding their manners or watching their language. They will snap into different crazy characters and dig into some balls to the wall long form improv in this two woman show where each different scene starts with the same line, taken from the audience at the top of the show. You'll laugh, you shouldn't cry, but ya know to each his own and you'll see one line take you to places you never expected."
Srilatha Stands Up
"Srilatha Rajamani, tech nerd, born and raised in India is a Cambridge, MA based stand up comedian and has been performing in the greater New England area three years. When she is not doing comedy, she likes anime and Korean pop and writes mildly erotic fan fiction about them. Her family in India is not aware of these shenanigans."
Ryan Chani
"I am a Boston based comedian looking to take advantage of my gregarious attitude by bringing humor to any stage that will have me. My inability to hold my tongue, mixed with a whit that doesn't know when to quit, makes for some interesting experiences. Allow me to tell you about them and maybe you can save yourself from some of the problems I've had the pleasure of dealing with.
You can also catch me as the co-host on the Podcast "Learn to Take a Joke" available on SoundCloud and iTunes. Twitter and Instagram is @TakeAJokeCAST"
Gloria Rose
"Born on Cape Cod, college in Worcester, and currently residing in Boston. After majoring in Psychology and Political Science at Clark University, she decided to put that very expensive Bachelor's degree to use and talk on stage. Gloria Rose has performed at The Comedy Studio, ImprovBoston, The Riot Theater, and all over New England and has written for Reductress. She will surprise you with how charming her very dry wit is as she shares observations, stories, and the occasional shower thought. Be sure to follow her on Twitter @thegloridays"
