This one’s for the ladies! In this workshop, we’ll celebrate what it means to gender identify as a woman in the comedy scene and work on bringing our unique voices and experiences into our improv. With support and trust, we’ll empower ourselves to do the scenes we like, play characters we can relate to, and only be wives and girlfriends if we wanna be.
Chrissie Gruebel has been studying and performing comedy since 2009 at the Magnet Theater Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where you can see her performing every week with her Megawatt team Metal Boy as well as the critically acclaimed ensemble The Friday Night Sh*w. She is also a proud member of the long-running indie team The Mannequin Room. As a group, they’ve traveled and performed all over the world. Some of their favorite experiences include headlining Harold Night at ImprovBoston, taking the stage at the legendary Friars Club and traveling to Copenhagen where they performed with the U.S. Ambassador to Denmark to promote diversity in comedy. Her writing has been featured on Reductress.com and several corporate Facebook accounts that shall remain nameless.
