The Bakersfield College Jazz Combos directed by Kris Tiner present a concert featuring original student compositions and standards, with a feature set by visiting artist Ralph Alessi and his quintet, This Against That. Alessi is a highly acclaimed trumpet player and composer and his group features NYC heavyweights Jon Irabagon on saxophone, Drew Gress on bass, Andy Milne on piano, and Mark Ferber on drums playing music from the new ECM release Imaginary Friends.
