About this Event

The Tsleil-Waututh Nation and Inlailawatash welcomes the BC Archaeology Forum 2019 to the TWN Cultural and Recreation Centre in North Vancouver on Saturday, November 16th. The program and format for the Forum is under development. At this point we have a few tentative themes that we would like to explore in 5-minute presentations in the morning, and round-table discussions in the afternoon. Please send us your ideas and suggestions.

1. Impacts: climate change, erosion, industrial, tourism/kayaking, wildfires, dams, roads, unauthorized digging.

2. Collaboration: means and way to collaborate between consultants, First Nations, and academics. How to share and build knowledge that is meaningful and not piecemeal.

3. Innovation: new approaches that go beyond the minimum standards of the Heritage Conservation Act.

We will be reaching out for presentations and potential moderators relative to these themes.

We are looking for sponsorship donations ($250.00) to cover coffee and tea and other things.

Following the Forum, an evening filled with merriment, libations, music, and laughter is planned. Details to come soon.

Please mark your calendars. We will follow up with more information soon.
