About this event

Join BBC, RCSD, CPD and various community partners for a 4 day Gun Violence Prevention Summit. Due to the increase in Gun Violence this year, Building Better Communities wants to host a Gun Violence Summit. The summit will allow BBC to meet with community leaders, politicians, law enforcement and community stake holders in an effort to fight Gun Violence in our communities. There will be 5 topics we discuss along with trainings:

1. EDUCATION: Implement BBC’s gun violence prevent program to address: suicide, domestic violence & human suffering.

2. FAITH: Raise awareness of gun violence prevention through faith based organizations.

3. LEGISLATIVE: Help identify legislators that support our cause. BBC will train volunteers on how to write letters, attend hearings and call/meet legislators.

4. HEALTH: Address mental health guidelines for gun purchases, usage, etc. BBC will provide information pertaining to suicide, domestic violence, collateral damage, etc.

5. COMMUNITY: We will address, Safe Neighborhood Solutions, Gangs, Community Action, Unsupervised children, safe schools & re-entry of formerly incarcerated youths and adults.
