Tie Simpson, also known as "Hippie" in the social media world, is a bold, captivating, and free-spirited yogi. She is an originally 100% self taught yogi who began her practice in July 2013, and contributes the success of her yoga journey to having a strong foundation of practice, patience, and persistence. She’s a firm advocate for self-love, empowerment, and wholistic healing; using her social platform to encourage, and promote the practice through her own personal journey to Self.

Her unapologetically daring and determined disposition has made her the ideal subject and yoga model. Tie is notorious for creatively blending the wellness of mind, body and spirit with the artistic nature of yoga. She expresses herself through outlets such as teaching, blogging, yoga photography modeling, performing mindful movement, and other art forms. For her, it's all about enjoying the journey, healing the soul, and discovering Self, through expression and enlightenment.

Tie completed her extensive yoga teacher training at the renown Kashi Urban Ashram in Atlanta, Georgia obtaining her 200 hour certification. She plans to obtain her 500 hour certification and pursue a specialty in holistic health and wellness. In addition to being a full time yoga instructor, she has since started building and branding Lotus Souls, a holistic lifestyle and wellness organization. Monique Schubert began her studies of yoga while she was an art student at Skidmore College. After graduation she traveled to India and Tibet to research 13th century murals in Buddhist temples. After college Monique studied both yoga and voice with her mentor, Maya Breuer, for many years before completing teacher training at the Kripalu Center in Lenox, Massachusetts in 2001. Her introduction to chanting came much later when she met Amma, “the Hugging Saint”. Meeting Amma inspired Monique to take up the practice of chanting and she soon discovered that this brought a new level of concentration and devotion to her studies and to her practice. For her yoga, music and art are inseparable, essential elements of Life! In 2015 Monique launched OM Society, a holisitic lifestyle company that expands the reach of yoga into schools, workplaces and cultural institutions. She was included as one of 11 influential practitioners in the Root article Power to the Peaceful: 11 Black Yogis, and was featured in the Yoga Journal article 21 Under 40: Talented Young Teachers That Are Shaping The Future of Yoga.

In March 2013, I had a true awakening. Frustrated with how I felt being overweight, unhealthy, & constantly tired, I decided to take the most important step in fitness. I decided to simply START. I dove into the simplest and most effective exercises & techniques. I researched what worked & what didn't work. My research opened my eyes to the fact that most fitness routines simply are not effective for most people.

April 2015 my passion evolved & I started Jay Atom Fitness. Not satisfied with the standard personal training and fitness models available, I wanted to provide something different for my clients. Something more sustainable & long-term. To give my clients the same information I'd taken over a year to discover, refine, & perfect.

As I continued to learn more & explore, my journey on the path of the yogi began. Offering my clients a more balanced approach, I began incorporating many elements of Vinyasa & Power Yoga into my fitness program. This new addition fully rounded out my fitness philosophy. Approaching the physical, mental, & emotional aspects. From Strength, Balance, Flexibility, Speed, Growth, & Power.

Now join me as I continue on my own journey. And allow me to help you reach your personal goals. Let me help you Live Your Life Outside!
