On Friday, September 18, 2015, the Port of San Francisco will hold a ribbon-cutting event for the opening of the Bayview Gateway, a new open space bordering Islais Creek, Third Street and Cargo Way.
Emphasizing sustainable design, construction and landscape materials for Bayview Gateway were locally sourced where possible, the plantings are drought tolerant, and the entire site will process and retain its storm-water runoff. A future phase will feature a permanent Gateway art piece at the Third Street corner.
