Bayou City Outdoors Hiking In Houston
Cleveland Park, Scotland St. & Jackson
8:30 AM to Noon
Are you so very tired of the four white walls at the gym closing in and envious of those who live in places like Colorado where hiking is at everyone’s doorstep? You don’t have to suffer inside and in silence anymore. Bayou City Outdoors knows where the hiking in Houston is without having to travel outside the city. Come discover all the trails and hideaways along the Buffalo Bayou and get lost exploring the winding flat trails, bridges, and modest hills while exercising at an easy to moderate pace. Along this six mile hike we pass the bat viewing area, art sculptures, and maybe even one of the rumored Buffalo Bayou alligators or Osprey couples!
We meet at ClevelandPark on the north side of Memorial Dr., where there is a foot-walkway over Memorial. The hike will begin here and we head towards downtown on the north side of the bayou. There is parking along the street for free.
BCO Hiking in Houston rewards you with a solid workout and new friends as you discover some Houston secrets along Buffalo Bayou in our Bayou City!
When we reach downtown, we’ll stop for a water/coffee break so bring a few dollars. As long as it is cool outside, this is a dog-friendly event for your canine friends who are up for six miles.
Free for members and non-members alike. Meet at 8:15AM; depart 8:30AM on the dot! Cleveland Park, ScotlandSt. & Jackson RSVP & Directions to Jackson Park www.BayouCityOutdoors.com
When & Where
Bayou City Outdoors
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Typically most BCO events are for adults. But, we do love kids. If you believe your child is capable of keeping up with the group, no problem. AND if this is a bike ride they MUST wear a helmet. Questions? Contact us at email@example.com
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
We add parking details to the Event descriptions.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
If the temperature is above 80 or it very clearly says "No Dogs" then please don't bring your dog. We LOVE dogs and only make this rule if we feel there could be a safety concern (for the dogs of course:).
BIKE: If it is a bike ride: Bring a helmet or borrow one from us. Helmets are the single most important piece of gear you can have on a bike ride. Anyway, any time you are wearing a helmet you must be having fun!
Bring water. Frequently our events are in the woods or out of the way. Water is important.
HIKE: If it is a hiking event wear comfortable shoes. Athletic shoes, hiking boots, running shoes, just be sure your feet will be happy.
SOCIAL: If it is a social event? Wear whatever YOU feel comfortable in. We are an eclectic mix of people with all types of interests and jobs. People will come straight from work in a suit or jeans, straight from running or working out, and some of us even come cleaned up straight from the shower! (and everything in between)
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Can I update my registration information?
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Printed ticket or download the EventBright app and bring it on your phone.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds up until 48 hours before. Or, better yet, get some goodwill by sharing your ticket with a friend. They will love you even more after all the fun they had at the BCO event!
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Yes - see love & friendship above!
