Event description

Description

The Bay Area Diversity Chapter Meeting is a monthly in-person meeting, where multiple companies from various industries are encouraged to network and engage in topics related to leadership and D&I. An educational segment will be featured for 30 minutes and boxed lunches will be provided for the attendees.

Abstract:

Initiating and maintaining a dialogue on diversity and inclusion can be challenging, as practitioners and stakeholders we should ask ourselves, how do we begin or continue the diversity and inclusion conversation outside of formal initiatives? In this time we will grow in our ability to define diversity and inclusion and how to create inclusive spaces as well as dialogue and deep dive into the rebranding of the Bay Area Diversity Council. We will dive into our own thoughts, biases and experiences and strengthen our own understanding of the roles we play and how we intersect with the Council.

Objectives:

As a result of the activities and information shared at this training, participants will:

  • Have a clear understanding of diversity and inclusion

  • Understand the value of diversity and inclusion

  • Recommend next steps as the Bay Area Council rebrands

Come partner with us!

When: Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 from 11:30am-1:00pm.

Where: University of Phoenix, 2100 Franklin Street, Oakland, CA 94612
