Event description

Dr. Charisse Williams, Assistant Director, Counseling Center

Thursday, February 15th | 4 - 5:30 PM

Location TBD

While graduate school culminates in a hard-earned degree, the quality of your journey towards that goal matters greatly. It is critical for graduate students of color to practice self-care: routine activities and practices that enhance and maintain your short and long-term health. Dr. Charisse Williams will discuss effective strategies for understanding stressors, overcoming feelings of isolation and seasonal affective disorder, identifying favorite activities that promote positive health, mitigating fatigue, and outlining and sticking to a self-care plan.

This Power Hour is being sponsored in partnership with the School of Public Health and is the first in a series of quarterly programming hosted in the Health Sciences complex during the 2017-18 academic year.

In order to make the best use of our limited funds, please keep in mind our catering and seating numbers are based off of the amount of RSVPs we receive. If you RSVP and are no longer able to attend, please change your RSVP status or notify GO-MAP as soon as possible by emailing: We want to provide this professional development opportunity to as many students as possible. – Thank you!
