The response following the disorder in Clapham Junction has been amazing, and many people still want to 'do something', with various suggestions cropping up about events and fundraisers for affected businesses, residents and local youth groups.
The council, through the Town Centre Manager, and with the generous offer of a venue from Clapham Grand wants to help facilitate this, and is organising the Battersea Buzz, a meeting for everyone who has ideas, skills or just the will to help Clapham Junction get together and celebrate everything that's positive about the area.
The purpose is for people to come together, meet, share their ideas and have new ones. Basically, to see what magic happens!
We're still finalising the format, but it will be designed so the community remains in the driving seat.
We are reliant on word of mouth to get people along, so please do use the sharing buttons to tell friends, neighbours and colleagues on Facebook, Twitter (use the #BatterseaBuzz hashtag) and LinkedIn. And use real word of mouth to tell people who might not be online, the event is open to everyone.
NOT ATTENDING TICKETS
'Not attending' tickets will be available until the end of the week to allow anyone who is couldn't make the meeting, or found out afterwards, to sign up so they receive the update emails after the event.
Your email address will only be used for a small number of emails related specifically to the Battersea Buzz event, it will not be passed on to anyone who organises a subsequent event.
