Arnoldo Ruiz is a Southwest/Latin America Account Executive for AvePoint that has over 10 years of experience in the industry. Arnoldo has extensive knowledge of Business Service Management strategies, data protection technologies, and forensic & e-discovery applications. Arnoldo works directly with Fortune 500 and other enterprise customers to develop and implement cost-effective SharePoint management, protection, and optimization strategies. His contributions to the SharePoint community have garnered him speaking opportunities at technology conferences, seminars, and user groups throughout North and Latin America.
“Room A” Topic:
SharePoint 2010 Search Architecture and Provisioning (followed by open Q&A)
With the improvements in Search in SharePoint 2010, many businesses are exploring the new capabilities of SharePoint Search and the value it can bring to their organization. In this session, we will discuss search user experience, architecture, and the various search offerings now available. Following his presentation on search, Kirk will hold a Q&A session for any and all questions related to your SharePoint implementation.
Kirk Daues has worked at Microsoft for 5 years and is currently a Senior Premier Field Engineer based out of Dallas, TX. Kirk has over 8 years of experience managing and maintaining enterprise SharePoint infrastructure for customers throughout the world. He has deep working knowledge of SharePoint 2003, 2007, and 2010 infrastructure design, troubleshooting, SharePoint upgrades/migrations, and SharePoint Search. Kirk has been working diligently this past year to prepare his peers and customers for SharePoint 2010 migrations. At the moment, Kirk is working on developing his FAST Search skillset and preparing for his rotation in the Microsoft Certified Master program.
“Room B” Topic:
“No Feature” Solutions in SharePoint via jQuery
There are situations such as SharePoint Online (in a hosted environment) where you are unable to deploy solutions in SharePoint. In this session, we will discuss options and customize a SharePoint site using jQuery, web services, CSS, and other non-server side code.
Mike Huguet is a Technical Evangelist for Sparkhound, Inc, a Microsoft Managed Gold Partner providing IT services to customers with offices in Baton Rouge, LA and Houston, TX. Mike is an active member of the IT community acting as a co-leader of the Baton Rouge .NET User Group, http://www.brdnug.org and a committee member for the Baton Rouge SQL Saturday event. He was also a member of the Microsoft SharePoint Patterns and Practices Advisory team for their most recent release for SharePoint 2010. Mike has a software development background and has been working with .NET since Beta 1 of the 1.0 framework. He is a native of Baton Rouge and a graduate of LSU.
We will also have community led discussions on the latest topics in the world of SharePoint and delivering collaborative business solutions. Door prizes will be given at the end of the meeting.
