Description

Peace of Mind Foundation is heading to Baton Rouge to raise awareness and breakdown stigma surrounding obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) which affects the lives of nearly 3 million people in the US. The organization will host a conference on Saturday, October 7 at Crowne Plaza.

The conference will have two sessions - one designed for professional and practitioners to learn about OCD and a second session for those living with OCD. Schedule below:

  • OCD 101 Training – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Opportunity for professionals, counselors, and teachers to learn about OCD and the various types, related disorders, symptoms, diagnoses, treatment options, stigma and relapse prevention. 3.0 Continuing Education (CE) credit available to social workers, psychologist and counselors.
  • Break for lunch – 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. (light bites and refreshments offered throughout conference)
  • Managing Life with OCD – 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.: this session will include personal experiences and prospective from Elizabeth McIngvale, Ph.D., LMSW and actor Ethan Smith, insights from family members of OCD suffers and a panel discussion.
