What really happens behind those gates? Get the inside story of Bath Iron Works as current and former BIW employees serve as your guides. On this exclusive tour, you'll learn about the history of this famous shipyard and discuss the process of constructing the most advanced ships in the world. The tour begins with an introductory video that takes you behind the scenes and details the building process, featuring the employees who create the Navy's most advanced ships.
Then board the trolley for a rolling tour through Bath and the exterior of the yard where your guide will detail the history of the yard, interpret the views and highlight key elements of the shipyard.
Tickets are nonrefundable and tours run rain or shine. This tour is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. The tour is approximately 90 minutes long.
Check out the Museum's Kennebec River Cruises to see BIW from the water. Photography is permitted from aboard the cruise boat.
