"Bass Cabaret is an amazing mash-up of costumes, interactive exhibits, circus arts, performances and electronic dance music."
"From the dark, smokey caverns of the Parisian cabaret to the steamy, underground warehouses that regularly host rave lifers, the neo-burlesque cabaret and bass music countercultures find common ground in the sexy application of fishnets and neon."
"Imagine a world where clowns wear colorful fishnets, tutus and lace-up boots. Glowing hoops circle the hands and waists of beautiful dancers wearing intricately beaded bodices and flowing skirts—some just sporting a modest pair of pasties. There is fog everywhere and it’s lit up like the aurora borealis. Melodic sounds and heavy basslines pleasantly flood the room while the crowd ebbs and flows with every wave."

Lafa Taylor Live

A world traveler based in Oakland, CA, Lafa Taylor is an achieved singer/emcee/producer.  His music carries a message of inspiration and activation, while staying gritty, bassy, and most importantly danceable. Lafa's live show is energetic, dynamic and unique; he has a great talent for connecting with his audience and working with the energy of the crowd. His collage of infectiously harmonic, bass heavy, multi tempo, music quickly heats up the dance floor while his vocal style ranges from sweet melodic choruses to tongue twisting rapid rhymes. He is also known for his intricate beat boxing, and often creates live loops in ableton on the spot.

In the summer of 2003, at age 17, Lafa single handedly produced and released his debut album "Life Music".  In 2004, after three months of traveling around Costa Rica with a portable studio in his backpack Lafa released "Hot Winter". Next he headed out to explore Japan. There he became a part of the multi platinum Japanese band "Def Tech" and played a 26 city tour. Every venue of this tour was sold out, including the prestigious Budokan in Tokyo which has a capacity of over 9,000 people. Lafa's song "Lift Up" with Def Tech saw major success in Japan. It was licensed for a Sony Ericsson commercial and the music video saw heavy rotation on MTV Japan and Space Shower.

Since returning from Japan,  Lafa has been redefining his sound and making noise in the west-coast bass music scene. He has performed under the alias FreakFunk in addition to playing in a live electronic duo with Russ Liquid known as BounceBrigade. Lafa will be releasing his full length album next month on his own record label Make Music. Often accompanied by back up singers and a live drummer, Lafa's show blurs the lines between live Hip Hop / RnB and raw bass music. Well loved by many, Lafa is making major moves, opening for big names as well as headlining his own sold out shows. Watch for this international man of music as he continues to spread love and bass wherever he plugs in.

As a music-hungry kid growing up in Chicago in the 70's and 80's, Aaron Holstein (VibeSquaD) was first hooked on classic funk and hip-hop sounds from legends like The Sugar-Hill Gang and Chic/Nile Rodgers, who inspired him to get a guitar of his own at the age of ten. Holstein’s childhood love for music would only continue to grow stronger and his eclectic palette of influences soon included big rock music like Rush, The Who, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Teen years in the 80's were spent phasing through Punk-rock, Ska, Hip Hop, New Wave, and Goth before discovering Bob Marley, George Clinton, Frank Zappa, the Grateful Dead, Phish, and Jazz.  Holstein played guitar, bass and sang/rapped in bands and music projects throughout high school and college, where he would study at the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston.  A member of Chicago's Boogie Shoes in the 90's and Denver's Future Jazz Project in the 2000's led to the forming of electronic/live improv band Zilla in 2003 w/ whom he occasionally still performs.  In Zilla,  Aaron was able to deepen his experiments with synthesizers and samplers and discover new ways to create bass heavy, mind altering music on the fly.  In 2006, continuing to dig deeper into the world of electronic music production and moving fully to the computer as the instrument of choice the VibeSquaD project was born combining and pushing the styles of Breakbeat, Dub, and Glitch Hop into undiscovered territory.

Over the last eight years, the prolific producer has put out over 10 well-received albums, EP’s and remix compilations, with over 100 original tracks to his credit. Never one to rest on his laurels, the VibesquaD sound continues to evolve and coupled with his extensive touring, wins over new fans globally on the regular. Personally selected as direct support for Bassnectar on the producer’s sold-out 2012, “Vavavoom Tour,” he has also performed alongside popular electronic producers including Pretty Lights,The Glitch Mob, and Big Gigantic as well as being a mainstay at major dance music festivals and club shows.

With a new full-length VibesquaD album “Spinning Gears and Making Things” released this past October, this producer stretches even further stylistically and sonically to include his own live guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, and vocals, further blurring the lines that separate genres and styles in electronic music.  Always rooted in funk, soul, deep bass, rich harmony, dirty beats, and pure originality, VibesquaD consistently reinvent himself musically, remembering to carry the pure intention that started it all: to make music that strongly vibrates positivity for the sheer sake of shared joy.

Party Girl Pearl

"Party Girl" Pearl has landed in the SF Bay Area to deliver you the ultimate nightlife experience. She is a burlesque artist and designer who has been throwing theme parties for as long as she can remember. She loves blending the world of Electronic Dance Music with the more traditional circus arts and variety shows for a truly memorable event that will have you and your friends talking for weeks -- maybe years -- to come.

Pearl has been attending Burning Man for several years, has driven across the United States four times, and is always up for an adventure -– like skiing on the Italian Alps, or taking an impromptu trip to Montreal, Canada in the dead of winter.

We consistently spoil our guests with a distinct blend of electronic dance music and performance art, incredible set designs, interactive activites, costume contests, and giveaways. You'll find a special attention to detail and a welcoming atmosphere -- we get to know many of our guests personally, so the event feels less like a night spent with strangers, and more like a party among friends.

Once you attend Bass Cabaret, your standards for partying will be forever raised.

We want to redefine what's possible in partying.

Come out and introduce yourself at our next event and let us know if we are doing our jobs ;-)
