Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

On Sunday, October 29th, 2017, I will host the 12th Annual Basket Bash in memory of my sister, Shari Farber Tritt, who passed away in 2010 after a tragic accident. Proceeds from this event will support the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation (DMRF).

Dystonia is a rare neurological movement disorder that forces muscles in the body to contract or spasm involuntarily, causing twisting, repetitive, and patterned movements as well as abnormal postures. DMRF is a Chicago based, non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of those with this disease.

Shari suffered from dystonia since the age of seven. Her goal, my goal, is to one day find a cure for dystonia so that no one has to endure its devastating impact.

By bringing together a mix of her local friends and family as well as other dystonia-affected families and their friends from throughout the Chicagoland area, we have raised $240,000+ for research over the last eight years. This year, I am hoping to add $20,000 to that number. Guests at Monastero’s Ristorante & Banquet will be treated to dinner and will have the opportunity to participate in raffles to win wonderful prizes presented in themed baskets. I hope that I can count on your support through an in-kind donation of an item for our baskets.

The attached donation form provides additional information. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. You can find out more about dystonia online at www.dystonia-foundation.org.

Through your generosity, we can move that much closer to Shari’s dream of finding a cure. She would have wanted it that way.
