Event description

Description

Join Basin PBS as we preview and disucss as a community the film I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO. Oscar-nominated based on the unfinished book by James Baldwin. At the time of his death, Baldwin left behind only 30 completed pages of his manuscript about his personal account of the lives and successive assassinations of three of his close friends: Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. Baldwin's original words spoken by Samuel L. Jackson.

Prior to the film, guests may visit the Ector County and UTPB Libraries to find more of Baldwin's books to become more educated about his works.

Our community discussion will be led by:
Derek Catsam - Professor of History (UTPB)
Clark Moreland - Lecturer in English (UTPB)
