Description

You can pickle that! Learn the basics of pickling with vinegar to make quick (refrigerator) pickles or canned pickles for pantry.

This workshop begins with a DISCUSSION on safe pickling techniques and favorite flavor combinations and a TASTING of an assortment of pickled vegetables. Students will get HANDS-ON to make two batches of pickles from a medley of seasonal farmers market produce. Then we will DEMONSTRATE preserving through water bath canning. Every student will TAKE HOME two jars!

Led by local pickle master, Todd Champagne of Happy Girl Kitchen and Cannery.
