Event description

Description

Come practice your trail maintenance skills and prepare to help in the recovery effort from the wildfire in the Gorge. Events will take place in open areas of the Gorge, while we prepare to restore trails in the burned areas after they are opened. We will be doing basic trail maintenance projects including treadwork and brushing.

Two crews will be starting at the same trail head on this day. One crew will hike 6 miles round trip, and one crew will hike 8 miles round trip. Both crews will be doing the same basic trail work.

What you need: Long pants, long sleeve shirt, boots (footwear more substantial than running shoes), a day pack with sufficient water and a lunch, weather appropriate extra clothing (rain gear, extra warm layers, warm hat, etc), and any personal items you typically bring on a day hike. We'll provide all the tools and hard hats, but if you have them bring personal work gloves please bring them.

*Event locations are TBD but will be on the Washington side of the Gorge. The exact location will be communicated by your crew leader in the week leading up to your trail day, so please keep an eye on your inbox.
