Event description

Description

Ever wanted to get approving looks by going beyond "Zdravstvuyte" when meeting a Russian? Did your Russian get a bit rusty after college or your last trip to Moscow? This 2-hour workshop will cover the basics necessary to be able to get by and maybe even strike your first conversation in Russian.

- basic greetings

- numbers

- countries and nationalities

- colors

- basic questions (where, when, how much, etc)

- adverbs to express feelings and emotions

- useful phrases for daily conversations

The first hour of class: structured instruction where I present target vocabulary and grammar, focus on the form and function. I will also provide plenty of examples of the key phrases in context.

The second hour: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, and more CONVERSATIONAL PRACTICE. Even if you have never spoken Russian before, you will during this workshop.

There are few things that are as exhilarating as being able to speak a foreign language. You get excited and so engaged in your even most basic conversation that it's hard to miss an opportunity to do so.

After attending the class, you will receive a hard copy and an electronic file with all of the target vocabulary and grammar so that you can review it later.

Prerequisites: you should know the alphabet, personal and demonstrative pronouns (I/he/she/it/we/you/they/this/that), be able to read in Russian, and have an idea how to construct a basic sentence (This is..).

Come out and have fun learning!
