About Basic First Aid/CPR & WFA
Basic First Aid & CPR are requirements for Ride Leaders & Coaches who will be working directly with students on bikes or in the field.
When complete, please download directly onto your PitZone account starting April 1.
This certification covers basic emergency treatment and can only be fulfilled by a hands-on class (online courses will not count). The CPR portion of this class is required to obtain the WFA certification, but may be taken out of sequence. The CPR portion will be taught during the first half of the class and then anyone scheduled to take the WFA will be excused. The Basic First Aid will be taught during the second half of the class. Certification is valid for 2 years
About WFA: Wilderness First Aid is a requirement for Assistant and Head Coach Licenses but is recommended for all coaching levels. WFA is a hands-on course designed to prepare anyone who enters the wilderness to confidently and effectively respond to injuries and illness that can occur while on the trail. Certification is valid for 2 years. Basic First Aid & CPR are required prerequisites for this course. (WFA certificate can be “held” until completion of CPR/First Aid.)
