Basic First Aid and Preventative Care for Horses

All horse owners have been in this situation: "Should I call the veterinarian, or is this a minor enough problem that I can take care of myself?" There's no getting by the fact that health issues will arise over the course of caring for your horse. Many of these issues, however, can be prevented and many are items owners can take care of themselves, without having to call the veterinarian. Third-year resident and equine enthusiast Dr. Emily Schaefer will discuss some basic first aid for horses, how to prevent major health issues from happening, and keeping your horse in the best overall health it can be in. Join us to learn more about how you can help your horse, and meet some other members of our equine medical team.
