Description

The Basic Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Educator training is a free workshop that provides the foundation for volunteer and career firefighters, support personnel, and other injury prevention educators to make a positive change in the community by educating on risk reduction topics.

Topics covered: impact of fire, presenting to various age groups, preparing an effective smoke alarm blitz, planning educations, evaluation of programs, history of CRR, and unified statewide messaging. Attendees will receive a copy of the Georgia Unified Community Risk Reduction Guide which includes a guide on integrating into the Georgia Board of Education Curriculum and a week by week topic guide for messaging.

This training is not a replacement for Fire and Life Safety Educator I.

The training is a collaboration of the Georgia Fire Fatality Task Force, Georgia Public Safety Educators Association, Georgia Fire Chief's Association, and the City of Douglas Fire Department.
