About this event
Basement Sweet is the solo project of 21-year-old Seth Petersen, an independent artist based out of Calgary, AB, Canada.
Seth received his first guitar as a gift at the age of 7, and has been hooked ever since.
After travelling Australia in 2019 with his brother, experiencing new places, people and sounds, the desire to write and record music became urgent.
Seth started Basement Sweet in 2020, aiming to blend elements of Indie Rock and Surf Rock with distinctive jangly guitar sounds inspired by the likes of Surf Curse, The Growlers, Real Estate, The Drums. Seth writes, records, mixes and masters all of his songs in his bedroom studio in the basement in order to deliver an authentic sound that is unique to his taste. Hence the name, Basement Sweet.
In 2022, a performing band formed in Tofino BC, Canada. Lead Guitarist Max Fowler, Bass Guitarist Quinn Adamo and Drummer Iain Telfer joined the band.
Peanut Butter Telephone is a collection of former and current uvic students.
Meeting at majestic park earlier this year, this 5 piece line up turned their jam sessions into full length psychedelic tunes. Blending jazz, alt, Indie and prog, PBT creates a energetic atmosphere they hope you can enjoy.
