The annual Barnes Science and Faith Symposium offers our community an opportunity to engage with significant issues of our day.
This year, our featured speaker, Dr. Warren Brown (Fuller Theological Seminary), will present on the topic “Free Will in the World of Neuroscience.”
Join us for lively discussion of the theological implications of contemporary neuroscience research, particularly as related to questions of free will, personal agency, and virtue.
All events are open to the public. ASL interpretation available upon request.

The Barnes Science and Faith Symposium is made possible by the generous support of Dr. and Mrs. David Barnes, who have been active participants in the Roberts Wesleyan College community since the 1970s. Dr. Barnes, professor emeritus in biology, taught at Roberts from 1970-2004. His wife Avis taught in the Pavilion School District for 30 years. They created the Barnes Symposium to foster an annual lecture series that would address issues of science and Christian faith.
