A CELEBRATION OF ALL THINGS STOUT & BRINY

Barleybrine is a celebration of all things stout & briny — of strong backs, stiff drinks & salty tongues. Above all, it is a celebration of panhandle people, our way of life & this beautiful place we call home.

You can think of this event as the younger, brasher cousin of Peat & Pearls, the Scotch- and oyster- themed event we host each fall in Pensacola. If you’ve been to that event, you have some idea what to expect at Barleybrine, with some caveats.

Where Peat & Pearls is swanky, Barleybrine is swarthy and swashbuckling. There will still be plenty of oysters, to be sure, but we’ll be chasing them with craft beer, not fine scotch or expensive cigars. Ticket sales will benefit the Gulf Seafood Foundation, and their efforts to help Florida seafood workers affected by Hurricane Michael.

Join Perfect Plain Brewing Co. — creators of the Hairy Man Stout — and Wilfrid's Barber & Fine Goods for our kick-off party. Wilfrid’s team will create a pop-up barber shop within the Perfect Plain taproom and host a beard and mustache competition like no other. Our ace barbers will compete to see who can give our bearded oystermen the most startling makeover. In addition to the competition, the event will feature drink specials, live music and more. This event is free and open to the public, though RSVP's are required.

Join Chef Kelsey Barnard Clark, winner of Bravo’s “Top Chef,” for a sumptuous five-course dinner featuring fresh, Gulf Coast ingredients, a guided oyster tasting with Florida oyster farmers Joseph and Teresa Mercer (of TAB Oysters) and beer pairings from Apalachicola's Oyster City Brewing Co. Kelsey will be joined in the kitchen by local guest chefs Josh Warner, of the District, and David Penniman, of Classic City Catering.

Enjoy Gulf oysters prepared by local chefs, live music and dozens of beers from some of the country’s best craft breweries at Saturday’s main event. VIP's get in the door an hour early (at noon), as well as access to an intimate oyster and beer pairing featuring Gulf Coast brews and premium, farm-raised oysters from across the South.

A NOTE ABOUT FOOD:

Tickets to Saturday's Grand Tasting event do not include food. Those interested in dining with us have two options:

  • Oyster Showcase: Guests can purchase books of tasting tickets, which are redeemable for oysters prepared by local chefs, for $20 each. Each book contains four serving tickets. Each "serving" includes three oysters. (One ticket booklet = 12 oysters)
  • Food Truck Corridor: Those who don't enjoy shellfish can sample a variety of other gourmet options at our food truck corridor. Food truck dining is a la carte. Tasting tickets are not required.

AGE RESTRICTION:

Barleybrine is an adults-only event. Guests must be 21 or older to attend.
