Larry's Coffee presents a three hour course covering the fundamentals of espresso shot pulling, hands-on milk steaming, the traditional Italian coffee service, and equipment cleaning and maintenance.
Basic barista training is provided to both our wholesale accounts and to the public.
Please note: For wholesale customers, the class is free of charge. However, space is limited and we do require a class reservation fee of $25 per attendee. Wholesale customers will be refunded based on attendance. A refund will be made within 2 business days. If you chose to cancel, you may do so for a full refund by 12 P.M. on the Monday before your scheduled class. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for cancellation notifications. For the General Public, the modest fee of $25 stands regardless of attendance status.

This class will cover:
1. “Dialing in” your espresso machine and grinder to pull perfect shots.
2. Espresso extraction.
3. Basics of tasting/experiencing specialty coffee.
4. Milk steaming to SCAA standards of texture/temperature.
5. Preparation of milk and espresso beverages to industry best skills and SCAA recommendations.
6. Maintenance and cleaning of espresso machines and grinders plus proper sanitary work-station standards for baristas.
Many parts of this training are hands-on. As a result there is a limit of four baristas per class.
Please observe SCAA best cupping practices – avoid strong soaps, perfumes and colognes, avoid smoking cigarettes, eating strong cheeses or brushing your teeth immediately before the class. We will taste a lot of coffee and you will want your nose and palate to be fresh.
Feel free to park on Gavin Street. Avoid blocking any driveways, parking lot entrances or gates. Enter through the orange door on the far left building (1507 Gavin Street) and check-in with our front office staff.
