Visionary photographer Rusin studied in painting at the Escuela de San Alejandro in Havana Cuba but quickly realized her talent was photography when she discovered she was painting with a camera lens not a brush. Through her training at the Escuela de San Alejandro, School of Television and Cinema in Madrid she cultivated her skills behind the lens transforming images from the conventional photograph into something straight from her imagination…..dreamy, sensuous, surreal, full of emotions and moods.
People took notice of her work and today she has exhibited her creations in galleries and museums worldwide including the Metropolitan Museum, New York City, USA, Bella Galleria, Milan, Italy; the Museum of the Louvre, Paris France, and the Lucid Gallery, Spectrum Miami Art Basel 2015, Miami. Some of her other work include Veni Vedi Social Club, Miami; the Why Art Gallery, Miami Beach; Catalina Hotel & Beach Club, Miami Beach, and the Cuban American Phototeque Art District, Miami. Today she is an instructor for digital photography at Miami-Dade Community College.
Rubin’s personal philosophy is that erotic art is suggestive and not explicit. This suggestion of sensuality has always drawn her to Man Ray’s bold art. His ability to capture the sculptural, the sensual, the mystery of the interior as he photographed the external body: the nude viewed so often in partial close-up rather than in totality, are Rusin’s intentions. However nothing should eclipse passion in her view.
“Passion is everything,” the bold photographer communicated. "Intensity before beauty.” And that is exactly what she will be teaching in the workshop, how to capture the intensity of your erotic subject.
