April 2nd marks the birthday of her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and the official Thai Heritage Conservation Day. To support the celebration of the Heritage Conservation Day we work with people, communities and organizations working in the field of heritage conservation, sustainable travel and other sectors to bring the idea of heritage into the public realm. The Heritage week provides a week-long series of events including talks, immersive experiences, and other events.

We would like to begin the first edition of the Bangkok Heritage Week by asking the question: "What is heritage?"

Often defined by and associated with the Fine Arts Department and UNESCO, heritage evokes the image of ancient architecture, palaces, and antiques. Of course, we love these grand and widely known aspects of our cultural and national narrative but we also believe there is more to heritage than that. The Heritage Week aims to shift the narrative towards vernacular, community, minority and other aspects of heritage.

By asking the question "What is heritage? We would like to invite you to share your view and definition of heritage. Lets experience, learn, connect and discuss the notion of heritage and help tackle the challenges and seize the opportunities.
