Bang Kruai: Folk Heritage from Ancient Ayutthaya

12-16 April 2019

4pm - 11pm

at ChangChui Creative Park

Enjoy one of the most colourful and festive times of the year in Bangkok. On the occasion of Thai traditional unique Songkran Festival, an annual festival which takes place over three days during the traditional Thai New Year, ChangChui brings the local spirit of “Bang Kruai” art & folk culture to the spotlight. Bang Kruai is a historic district in the southern part of Nonthaburi close to Bangkok city where still maintains the traditional way of life from the ancient age. You will get to see the original Songkran ritual: pouring scented water on the hands of revered elders to give respect and ask for blessing, as well as bathing rite for Buddha images.

While the famous area like Khaosan Road or Silom Road is taken over by a mass water fight celebration, ChangChui will keep you in the cozy vibe of Songkran in ChangChui’s and Bang Kruai’s way; chilling atmosphere, lively market place where you can find traditional food and dessert, Folk performance and Folk music performance, traditional massage and more..
