About the Instructor:
Lucille Guinta-Bates is a dancer, choreographer, and performer, as well as an adjunct professor at St. Cloud State University in the Department of Human Relations and Multicultural Education. She discovered her love of dance at age six when her mom enrolled her in a ballet class with Parks and Recreation in Concord, CA.

She was also a member of the Minnesota Dance Ensemble as a dancer and choreographer for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons. She has also been teaching ballet for adults at Revolver Studios for the past three years.

Lucille studied ballet with several teachers in her childhood. Most notably with Janne Jackson Dean, who danced with American Ballet Theater and appeared in the film “The Turning Point” as Corps de Ballet.

Lucille studied Pre-Dance Therapy at University of the Pacific, in Stockton CA.; graduating with her B.A. in 1989. While at U.O.P. She studied Modern, Jazz, and Tap technique. Following her graduation, Lucille danced with “The New Dance Company” in Stockton CA for two seasons.

After years away from dance, Lucille returned to the art form in 2015, rediscovering a life long passion for dance and the arts in general. Lucille also has a M.S. degree in Social Responsibility at St. Cloud State University (2008), which is the basis of her “day job” at SCSU. She most recently rekindled her love of acting appearing in a number of local plays.
