Ballet Etudes Cinderella
Event Information
About this event
Once upon a time, Cinderella helps her evil stepmother and two jealous stepsisters prepare for the Spring Ball, at which the Prince will choose his bride-to-be. Cinderella's fairy godmother comes to grant her wish of going to the ball and turns Cinderella's rags into a beautiful dress, and a pumpkin into a carriage. The fairy godmother warns her that the magic will only last until midnight, at which time the spell will break. Only the glass slippers will remain. With this warning in mind, Cinderella departs for the ball and arrives at the palace, transformed beyond recognition into a beautifully dressed princess. The Prince is entranced by her beauty and charm, and he asks her to dance. Just as they are falling in love, the clock strikes midnight, and Cinderella quickly flees from the ballroom. Though the Prince pursues her, she vanishes into the night moments before the spell breaks, losing one of her glass slippers in her haste. The Prince is heartbroken, but finds the lost slipper, and vows not to rest until he finds the girl whose foot fits the slipper! The next day Cinderella’s stepmother hurries in with the news that the Prince is on his way to their house, desperately trying a glass slipper on every girl he encounters. Upon his arrival, he tries the slipper on the two stepsisters, to no avail. He asks if the slipper is Cinderella's, and she sheepishly takes the matching slipper out of her pocket. Her stepfamily is shocked. Overjoyed to have rediscovered each other, Cinderella and the Prince confess their love for one another and live happily ever after!
