Description

Join the Ball State University Singers under the direction of Dr. Alan Alder and the Roberts Park Chancel Choir under the direction of Mr. Jason Fishburn-Grooten for John Rutter's, "Requiem" on Palm Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Roberts Park United Methodist Church Sanctuary.

Led by Pastors Dr. Rev. Andrew Scanlan-Holmes and Rev. Melissa Kleinschmidt, Roberts Park United Methodist Church is an inner-urban faith community serving neighbors in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Construction on the current stone church at Delaware and Vermont Streets began in 1869 and was completed in 1876. This new church was named “Roberts Park Church” in 1870. “Park” was included in the name because the new one-acre lot with its grove of Walnut trees had a park-like appearance. The wood from these trees was used for the interior of the church. The original organ facade created by William H. Clarke & Co. in 1876 remains. The organ has since been restored and is frequently maintain by Goulding & Wood Pipe Organ Builders.

Formed in 1899, Ball State University, led by President Dr. Geoffrey S. Mearns, is a public coeducational research institution located in Muncie, IN.

In 1964, Mr. Don Neuen founded the Ball State University Singers. They serve as Indiana's Official Goodwill Ambassadors. The ensemble has music majors and non-majors. In their 54th season, the Ball State University Singers sing a variety of choral genres about faith, hope, laughter, and love. Director Dr. Alan Alder said, "We are excited to participate in an intergenerational setting because it aligns with our mission to represent our university and state with professionalism and to build a bridge between our heritage and our future."
