Description

We are beginning to look for our actors, speakers, singers, dancers and volunteers for this years Ball in the Fall. The Ball will be held at Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, TN on Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 from 9am till 5pm.

Practices will be held every Saturday from mid July till the event in Mount Juliet, TN starting at 10am and finishing by 2pm. Each actor/singer/dancer is only required to stay during their allotted time for practice (no more than an hour) NOT the entire 4 hours.

This is a non-profit ministry, therefore all those who participate are strictly volunteers. We trust that the Lord will bless you for your time donated to this ministry which has touched hundreds of women and will continue to do so. We have heard and witnessed countless stories of new friendships and healing that has taken place at the practices. There are several who have given their life to the Lord and/or rededicated their life to the Lord just through the practices.

We encourage you to pray about the time comittment that is required if you are to volunteer. If you attend every practice you will have @ 6-8 hours invested at practices alone. Plus, there is at home practice which is at least half that amount depending on your part. A minimum of 10 hours will be dedicated plus there are a few meetings and an appreciation dinner (which is optional).

As a volunteer you and a guest can attend the Ball for free (a $40 value). Plus, you get in early to chose a good seat and as a volunteer you get a free box lunch the day of the event (a $10 value plus $10 off at the Ball merchandise table).

Here are the positions that are available:


Non-acting parts:

- 3 ladies to dress up like fairy tale princesses to great people for an hour upon entering the event


Non-speaking parts:

- Guests at a funeral (need 8-12 people)


Dancers:

- Dancers to dance to 2 routines (multiple dancers needed)


- 20-30 youth and young adults to march in and do minimal dancing in a line (this would be a great service project for a youth group) No experience dancing required. The routine is easy to learn and has minimal moves.


Acting:

Female parts (14+ years old):

- Cat woman (funny- multiple lines)

- Bat girl (funny- multiple lines)

- Super woman (funny- multiple lines)

- 4 Dominoes (semi-serious- multiple lines)

- Lady in the coffin (funny)

- Lady giving eulogy (funny/serious)


Male or female parts:

- Antique appraiser (serious- multiple lines)

- 3 heirs that bring in antiques (serious- multiple lines)


Male only parts (13+ years old):

- Teenage boy (serious- dramatic- multiple lines)

- Young adult man (serious- dramatic- multiple lines)

- 40 year old man (serious- dramatic- multiple lines)

- 60 year old man (serious- dramatic- multiple lines)


Children parts (male or female):

- 3 stalks of corn (funny- mulitple lines)


Non-performing positions:

Registration table (need a minimum of 8 people)

Mask table (2 people)

Photo booth (1-2 people)

Ball merchandise table (2-4 people)

Ushers (male or female- minimum 8 people)

Back stage help (2-4 people in addition to actors)

AV runner


This event typically takes 75 people to put on. This year we are needing a minimum of 100.

If you can operate in more than one position, we would forever be grateful to you. We ask that you do not sign up for more than 2 speaking parts unless they are non-speaking or non-acting parts. For example, if you want to be a domino and an heir, you could also sign up for back stage help and a non-speaking funeral guest. Another example would be if you wanted to be at the registration table and a non-speaking funeral guest.

Due to the overwhelming volunteer response since our last event, we will only accept those who have filled in this form. We will be holding auditions towards the end of June. The date and location will be announced. Also, there will be 2 dates to chose from.
