Get ready for an explosive daytime party with a top notch lineup to close out Brasil Summerfest 2022!

Baile funk has long transcended Rio’s favelas and its sounds have been played in all corners of the world. Baile Do Brasil presented by Old Parr features major creative forces and members of the Baile Funk renaissance for a very rare joint appearance in NYC: Leo Justi (Heavy Baile), João Brasil and Daniel Haaksman.

Leo Justi is the producer behind Heavy Baile, the Rio based collective whose music and dance performances have been redefining the sound of funk carioca and has reached international grounds developing partnerships with M.I.A., Phantogram, Tropkillaz, Emicida, MC Guimê e MC Carol.

João Brasi - SoundCloud

Rio de Janeiro DJ and producer João Brasil is known for his Brazilian mashups and synthpop funk carioca and wil bel making his New York debut. João Brasil rose to fame with his hit song ‘Michael Douglas’ and at one point in his career was releasing one mashup per day for an entire year.

Daniel Haaksman - SoundCloud

Last but not least, the closing party features Daniel Haaksman, the Berlin based DJ and producer who has been extremely influential in advancing Brazil’s favela sounds to the world through his Man Recordings, a leading label in tropical bass music. He first introduced the favela sound to the world with his 2004 release of Rio Baile Funk Favela Booty Beats. His music is a club ready mix of baile funk, kuduro, afro-house and tropical bass.
