Event description

Description

Please join us Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Rice University's Stude Concert Hall for The Festival of Bad Ad Hoc Hypotheses (BAHFest), a celebration of well-argued and thoroughly researched but completely incorrect scientific theories. Six speakers take the stage and present their theories to an illustrious panel of judges in front of a packed house. It is an all ages event, fun for the whole family.

Hosted by Joel Watson (Cyanide & Happiness) and featuring a special keynote lecture from Jorge Cham (PHD Comics), this evening is sure to be remembered for its wit, its scientific passion, for its outside-of-the-box brilliance...but probably not for its factual accuracy. Judges include Dr. Julia Saltz and Nicole Stott, a real life astronaut.
