Description
You're invited to join Sustain Dane in honoring and celebrating the 2017 Badger Bioneer Awardees:
- Aaron Perry, Rebalanced-Life Wellness Association: Aaron’s overarching goal is to ensure that African American men living in under-represented communities, who bear the heaviest burden of disease and poor health status, can live fuller and healthier lives.
- Natasha Smith, REAP Farm to School Program: Natasha’s work brings fresh, local, sustainably produced food to children, establishes reliable markets for local farms using sustainable agriculture practices, and provides hands-on education in Madison classrooms.
- Project Green Teen, Shabazz City High School: Project Green Teen’s unique comprehensive curriculum literally takes students out of their comfort zones, giving them life-changing experiences through hands on environmental service learning.
Join these local sustainability champions for an evening of intimate dialogue and celebration! Meet the 2017 Badger Bioneer Awardees over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at Fresh Madison Market's beautiful community space above the market. We'll have a brief presentation from Sustain Dane's Executive Director, Jessie Lerner, and each of the Badger Bioneer Awardees will speak about their work and its impact on our comunity at 6:45 PM.
Funds raised from this event will provide scholarships to Sustain Dane's Badger Bioneers Conference for those in the community who may not otherwise be able to attend. Your dollars will give more individuals across our community access to a transformative day of learning, inspiration, and connection at Sustain Dane's Badger Bioneers Conference. If you’re an individual or for-profit organization with the means, please choose to add an additional donation with your ticket to the event. More diversity at the conference will mean more opportunity for collaboration and innovation. Let’s continue to build a movement that brings everyone to the table to develop practical solutions needed to change the world. Thank you for your generosity!
PLUS - Celebrate, meet, and honor the 23 Badger Bioneer Nominees who were identified by our neighbors as sustainability champions! Learn more about the Badger Bioneer Nominees.

What's a Badger Bioneer?
Each year, Sustain Dane recognizes individuals and teams who are working to achieve Big 'S' Sustainability, inclusive of a strong community, just economy, and healthy planet. This year's Badger Bioneers were nominated by the community and chosen by our Badger Bioneers Selection Committee. Read our recent press release to learn more about the 2017 Badger Bioneers.
How else can I support the Badger Bioneers?
