Growing and using herbs as medicine is a practice deeply seeded into ancient Chinese tradition for many centuries. Discover it’s teachings and how to incorporate them into your life. An herb like white sage, native to Southern California, can be used for many things from curing a sore throat, flavoring soups, or attracting positive energies. In this lecture, learn more about this and others native herb types, growing methods, medicinal properties, other uses, and how to prepare teas, tinctures, salves, oils for application.
The road to understanding and using herbs involves becoming aware of your body, and it’s connection to nature. Nurture this connection and discover the world of herbology. Herbs can serve as a natural form of preventative healthcare instead of pharmaceuticals, which are often chemical and synthetic based, not to mention, often end up down the drain where they go on to pollute our watershed. Plus, when you grow your own herbs, you create habitat for native insect and bird species, prevent runoff to your watershed by slowing down rain water, and save energy by buying less and harvesting more. The reasons to know herbs are endless. Join us to get a solid introduction into the exciting world of herbology.
