Learn all about backyard bird photography during this full-day workshop. Discover how to create better images of the birds that visit your very own backyard and practice making your own set-ups and such in a country setting.
The group will be small — just six (6) participants.
I’ll discuss equipment –— both that which relates to photography and that related to birds. We’ll take a look at how to attract the birds you want to photograph and when it’s best to begin getting set-ups and feeding/water stations ready. That includes understanding the pros and cons of certain types of feeders, watering devices, and foods.
We’ll also talk about how to create photo-worthy perches and photography set-ups. I’ll provide in-depth instruction regarding the ideal placement of set-ups, perches, feeders, etc. so that the birds will be in the best position(s) for photography and good (non-distracting and smooth) backgrounds.
This workshop also includes tips on how to affordably build your own backyard bird photo blind plus an afternoon photo shoot in my own affordably-built photo blinds at the Red Belly Ranch.
Artistic elements will also be discussed, including how to create set-ups that result in visually appealing images, tips on composing bird photographs, and other key issues with regard to photographing these quick-flying subjects.
LUNCH (on site) INCLUDED; vegetarians, gluten-free, etc. welcome ~ just let us know when you sign up.
