Join the adventure! This backpacking trip is to raise funds for the non-profit organization Rescue:Freedom:International. Rescue Freedom exists to rescue and restore women and children suffering in sexual slavery. With partner sites in 18 countries, they have touched the lives of over 48,000 women and children. Learn more about their work at www.rescuefreedom.org.

Come to the Last Frontier and embark on a journey of personal growth while joining the fight against human trafficking! The goal for this multi-day backpacking trip is to bring HOPE to the captives while pushing personal limits, stepping out of our comfort zone, and experiencing some of God's most magnificent creation.

Resurrection Pass Trail is a historic trail in southcentral Alaska. While not a technically demanding trail, it is 38 miles in length, which we will be covering in three days. We will be hiking August 5, 6, and 7. Overnight accomodations on the trail will be in tents and/or public use (rustic) cabins.

You will be responsible for transportation to Anchorage, AK. Plan to arrive no later than 3:00 pm August 4. Overnight accomodations (before and after the trip) will be provided on cots in a church gym (theCrossing, Chugiak, AK). Round-trip transportation to and from the trailhead will be provided and is included in the ticket price.

There are 20 spots available, divided into two groups of ten. One group will hike north to south, the other south to north. We will have a meaningful celebration when we meet in the middle. There will be 1-2 experienced trail leads per 5 hikers.

Please read the following physical requiremnets and expectations before signing up.

  • Currently or soon to start working out 3-4 days a week. We recommend you be able to run/walk three miles without stopping prior to committing to the event. This is a physically demanding trek.

  • Agree to 10 weeks of training hikes beginning the end of May (as we get closer the weekly hikes will require 4-5 hours on your feet).

  • Agree to make this hike about the greater purpose.

  • Agree to 5 accountability video conference calls over a 4-month period.

  • Agree to provide your own round-trip transportation to Anchorage, Alaska.

  • Agree to share the campaign page and links to create awareness and ask your friends and family to support the cause (there is no minimum requirement, but hikers have raised approximately $1500 each).

  • Understand that we are not promised blue skies and sunshine on the days of the trip (we will pray).

  • Agree to purchasing the required gear (multi-day backpack, hydration system, hiking shoes/boots, water filter, sleeping bag/pad, appropriate attire, bear spray, hiking poles, food for three days on the trail and cooking system/utensils).

  • Agree to hike at your own risk and sign a liability release before the event.

  • Understand this is a three-day backpacking trip covering 38 miles over varied terrain with possible wildlife encounters.

  • Understand that if you do not follow the training requirements and choose not to fundraise we reserve the right to release you from the event for the safety of all participants and to preserve the integrity of why we hike.

  • Agree to HAVE FUN!

Thank you for considering being part of an adventure that will free people all over the world!
