In order to maintain student engagement and to prevent summer slide while school is out, SASTEMIC conducts STEM-Maker camps. These camps combine our high quality Geekbus educational programs, and extend our basic exploratory Maker activities, to provide students continual learning over the course of a week during their summer. A Maker is someone who uses technologies to create and MAKE new things. A Maker is a creator of technology, not just a user of technology.
Maker Camp will run from 9am-4pm, Monday -Friday, and include a range of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math experiences all week long for students going into 5-8th Grade, or ages 10-14. Some activities include:
- 3D Design and Printing
- Video Game Design and Computer Programming
- Mechanical and Hardware Engineering
- Simple Circuits and Rocketry
