Love to dance and want to get out of the house with your baby or toddler? Come dance with us!
Dancing may help you loose weight, reduce stress, make friends and more! Plus no need to hire a sitter when you can bring your little one with you, or don't; every parent needs a little getaway once in awhile! Dancers without babies are welcome too!
The class is 90 minutes long. This allows enough time to take a break and tend to your baby if necessary. Don't worry if you've never taken a single dance class before, we will make you feel right at home! Space is limited, registration is recommended. Drop-ins will be welcome if space is available. Please call Birth Beautifully for more information.
Babywearing safety is a top priority. Dancers who are not properly wearing their baby will not be permitted to take the class. Refer to Babywearing International for safe wearing practices. Wearer must also be cleared for physical activity by their care provider. If you are new to babywearing we encourage you attend a Babywearing International of Central NY meeting before attending a class.
Don't have a carrier? No problem! Join our local babywearing chapter and have access to their entire lending library for only $30 per year!
Our local babywearing chapter meeting will be December 17th. This gives you the ability to join our chapter, learn from our amazing babywearing educators AND borrow a carrier if needed. Check out their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/BWIofCNY/ *This class is not affiliated with Babywearing International, but supports our local chapter.
Babywearer: Dancing can make the room and wearer very warm, so dress comfortable and light. Shoes should also be comfortable for carrying your baby in. Make sure to bring plenty of water!
Baby: Dress baby lightly and preferably in a breathable carrier. We will take breaks to monitor baby's temperature to ensure baby is not overheating. Baby must be worn facing in to provide adequate head and neck support. We also recommend your baby be at least four to six weeks old to have some head control. A modified dance will be taught to those younger than four to six weeks. '
