Why we are racing
We are hoping to offset some of the high cost of adoption through our fundraising efforts. Please help us by signing up to run/walk, purchasing a shirt, volunteering your time or providing a flat donation. Even if you can't contribute, you can help us spread the word by sharing this site!
Event Information
With each entry, you will receive a raffle ticket for door prizes* held at the event. You must check-in to receive your raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets may be purchased at the event. *Must be present to win door prizes.
Door prizes will include:
- a $20 Abolitionist Card, where $10 is a donation and $10 is a gift card to be used at a 2nd Cup
- a $25 Target gift card
- a $50 Luke's Locker gift card
- a $200 Gift Certificate for (2) two hours of interior design consulting with Heidt Consulting (Restrictions Apply; see certificate for more information)
The route is roughly a 5K distance. Here is a pdf map of the route you'll be running/walking. Runners and walkers must obey traffic laws during the course. You'll start at A 2nd Cup and head west on 11th Street, turn right on Heights Boulevard, turn around 20th Street, turn left on 11th Street and finish in front of A 2nd Cup! Children 10 years old and under are free but will still need to have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Don't forget to download, sign and turn in this waiver to participate in the event. We will also have waivers at the check-in tent.
Please patron our host, A 2nd Cup, whose mission is to provide an avenue for awareness of the issue of human-trafficking in Houston.
While at the event, The Pink Box food truck will be selling their signature pink tacos and other tasty foods. Be sure to try it out!
Directions & Parking
The event will take place at A 2nd Cup, located at 1035 East 11th Street. For directions, please click here for a direct link to google maps. For parking, you may use the two parking lots designated for Vineyard Church or nearby street parking.
Schedule of Events
8 am – Check-in/Register
9 am – Start of the race
10:30 am – Door Prizes
11 am – End of Festivities
At check-out and during the event, you will have opportunities to purchase our Simply Love T-shirts and additional tickets for our door prizes. *Must be present to win. Please view our indiegogo site for other ways to donate.
