Arizona Myeloma Network (AzMN) and the John Wayne Cancer Foundation

 are proud to host the

5th Annual AzMN/Navajo Nation Cancer Awareness and Advocacy Conference

The conference is free and open to all. There will be raffles, lunch, a health fair and entertainment.

Increase your awareness of cancer prevention, early detection and screening to save lives. Plus learn what to do and what resources are available for you to treat cancer and/or help someone who has cancer!

The goal of the conference is to increase cancer awareness, education and advocacy to the Navajo Nation.

CME/CEU are available!  Who should attend: Tribal officials, cancer patients, families, caregivers, health care professionals, outreach and social workers, cancer advocates, medical and nursing students, health care educators, researchers  and others concerned about minimizing cancer in the Navajo Nation.

Program timeEveryone is welcome to come and go as needed.

8 am: Registration, Free continental breakfast and National Anthem sung in Navajo!

9 am to 4 pm: Conference program, closing ceremony and raffle. 

Health Care exhibits will be open all day with samples, give-aways and tons of information on many forms of cancer and overall wellness. Free box lunch will be provided to attendees that pre-register. 

Conference Program Education and Workshops:

  • Navajo Nation cancer statistics; Prevention and Early Detection;
  • Cancer facts and information presented in Navajo!;
  • Breast cancer education and prevention;
  • Dealing with cancer: the emotional and financial impact on patients and their families;
  • How to support cancer patients and the entire family
  • Navajo Nation Community Programs breaking barriers and helping patients and their families survive and thrive.
