About Jean: Jean Veloz is a legend and icon of Lindy Hop/Jitterbug whose unique style has been copied over the past 7 decades by dancers around the world. Jean was nominated in 1995 and inducted into the 'California Swing Dance Hall of Fame' in 1996 and can be scene doing her unique style of Lindy Hop in a few surviving films such as Swing Fever and the instructional and hilariously entertaining Pete Smith short, "Groovie Movie" where swing dancers demonstrated various dance steps of the jitterbug. At just 90 years young, Jean shows no signs of slowing down. She has been invited to appear as a special guest at numerous Lindy Hop weekends and will be coming to Arizona for her first time ever! Don't miss this incredible opportunity to learn for a dance legend.

About Rusty Frank: Rusty Frank is a Lindy Hopper and Tap Dancer, producer, choreographer, writer, and dance preservationist. She is the author of the critically acclaimed book TAP! The Greatest Tap Dance Stars and Their Stories 1900-1955, the producer and choreographer of the stage revues "Swingin' The Century - The Big Band Show" and "Jazz Tap." Rusty is the producer of the one-hour television special in production, "TAP! Tempo of America" (recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Grant).

Jean and Rusty both appeared in the film "Alive and Kicking" A documentary about the swing dance/Lindy Hop community around the world.

Since 1998, Rusty's "Lindy By The Sea" dance school (El Segundo, California) has been offering group and private classes in Swing Dance, Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, and Charleston, and Rusty's "Rhythm Club" weekly swing dance in Playa Del Rey, California, is one of the few clubs in the nation featuring an evening of dancing to live bands.

The AZ Swing Jam is now in it's 23rd year! The AZ Lindy Hop Society presented the first AZ Swing Jam in 1997 with Frankie Manning and continued for 13 years. After Frankie's passing we have continued to spread the love of this dance. This event is the longest running Swing/Lindy hop event in Arizona and one of the longest running in the world.

Housing is available for out-of-town guests.
